Below is a list of AI Early Signals - promising ideas that were discovered through trawling the internet for workflows that appeared in the wild.
It used to be that every spreadsheet template, Craigslist’s category, etc. was a startup
Now it’s every prompt
The collective intelligence and ability of the outside world helps us discover things we cannot imagine, we could have never done internally. And both, like, great things that the model can do, new capabilities and real weaknesses we have to fix.

What makes a good early signal?
The best early signals are interesting workflows that appear organically in the wild.
These usually will look like a user request or a user forcing ChatGPT (or other model) to do something for them. It’s a cumbersome process which is ripe for a business to be build around it 😏
Warning: You can create fun side projects by optimizing the UX around a prompt, but in order to create defensible value you’ll need to build a business with a moat. I like to reference Elad Gil’s list of moats.
